Long regarded as a buffer zone between the different cultural areas of the European Neolithic, the Alpine massif has benefited from renewed interest in recent years, notably following the development of preventive archaeology and high-mountain prospecting. This work is gradually revealing the full complexity of a region that is key to understanding the Neolithic period.
The NeoAlps26 international conference aims to provide an overview of the implications of this profound renewal of knowledge about the Neolithic in the Alps.
